Ergonomics mainly help you to interact with the outside elements and increase your efficiency at workplace.
Unfortunately, as your body matures, it is quite obvious that your eyesight, ability to focus and flexibility in body movement deteriorates.
Here are some ergonomic requirements for elderly people that can ensure comfort, safety and productivity.
- Bigger screens: As and when your body ages, the first sign you can notice is weakening of eyesight. So, to overcome this particular problem of eyes, get a bigger screen for your system.
- Perfect lighting: If you work from your home, it is quite possible to raise the overall lighting of your working environment. Ensure that lights at your workplace emits full color spectrum.
- Go for desktop: If you are thinking to buy laptop for your workplace, then it is better to withdraw your option. This is due to the reason that desktops are highly recommended over laptop.
- Chair: Always choose a chair [Ergonomic chair] that adjusts and easily molds to your body. Ensure that the entire back should touch the back of the chair.
Set perfect position for keyboard, which doesn’t put you too much strain on your hands or wrists. Don’t forget to keep your feet firmly on ground while using computer or you can use foot stool to balance your position before computer.
