Virtual Ergonomics For Improved Products And Processes
Posted on May 07, 2010 | Comments 0
Although in theory ergonomics of a product or processes involved in a system may appear to be sound, effective and workable this may not always translate into actual use. It is not always possible to accurately predict how something will work practically or respond to actual human function and use.
And since the response to a product in the 3D world cannot be assessed before hand, virtual ergonomics can come in handy to assess the product or process beforehand.
Problems such as cost overruns and product or design deficiencies can be detected and corrected at earlier stages of production when virtual ergonomic options are exercised.
The problems inherent to the product design can be weeded out at the design and engineering process.
Virtual ergonomics takes into account factors that can help to improve product usability, and can make for more efficient design processes. This is because it takes into account human factors for improvement in products.
