Setting Everything Just Right In Your Workspace

office ergonomicsIf you work in an office workplace then you may be at risk for injury from the constant repetition of movements that include your hands, shoulders, neck, back, and wrists due to the nature of computer dependency in the modern office place.

However, you can make a few changes within your office workspace that will essentially allow you to fit your body more comfortably into your environment.

Just a few changes will help protect your body from injury and may help you avoid chronic pain that you may have thought you would just have to live with.

First of all, take a look at your surroundings and what your daily tasks consist of. Make sure that you spread out repetitive tasks and add a little variety by switching back and forth from tasks you may complete over the course of the day.

You also will want to make sure to purchase ergonomic furniture to make sure that your body is placed in a chair and desk that fits it and promotes good posture while providing excellent support.

Also, you may need to shift your computer so that the monitor sits lower if you have a smaller statue as this will help prevent leaning and excessive eye strain.

Finally, you will want to take note of the temperature and lighting in your work area. Proper lighting is essential as improper lighting will lead to eye strain which can cause headaches.

As for the temperature you need to make sure your body is comfortable as excessive heat or cold will affect your overall mood which plays a large role in how productive your work day is.
