Improve Your Posture With Good Ergonomic Equipment

good posturePosture and ergonomics are always connected to each other.

A good ergonomic environment often leads to proper positioning at your desk.

Bad posture and injuries like back pain, neck pain, eye strain, etc are often the results of an improper working area.

Tips to maintain good posture at the workplace

  • Use posture-friendly props and ergonomic office chairs while sitting. Usage of supportive ergonomic props helps in avoiding the strain and load from your spine.
  • Use ergonomic office chairs or chairs that have adjustable back support at your workplace.
  • Use a footrest, convenient lumbar back support, a small pillow or even a towel when you are sitting in your office chair.
  • Use bags, backpacks and purses that are designed to reduce back strain to help you in getting a good posture.
  • Use proper eyewear and position the computer monitor to your natural eye position. This position helps you to avoid bending or straining your neck with your head tilted forward.
  • Increase proper awareness about the posture and ergonomics in everyday sitting. Understanding good posture and ergonomics at your workplace is a more important step towards introducing good postures and ergonomic methods.
  • Use supportive footwear while standing at the workplace. Also, when you are in motion, improve your posture and ergonomics.

I work at home and sit for many hours every day in front of a computer and I have found that along with investing in a good chair and taking regular breaks to stretch my legs – getting a monitor arm for my screen has also helped massively. It allows me to continuously move the position of my neck and even my whole body and it works really well to break up sitting in one constant position.
