De-Stress To Prevent Distress

In today’s extremely fast and developing world, there is an unseen load on the back of the working multitude: the load of stress due or undo.

You think everything is going just fine and suddenly an unexpected emergency arises from nowhere to get you the taste of just that thing you don’t need-STRESS. But then, that is life.

So, in this thing called life that we are living, replete with shocks, surprises and stress; it is more of a directive duty to keep the work area as free from stress as possible.

Yes, the targets have to be met and the work done should be of the highest order, but in no way should your working system, in most cases, the PC, be handing over more stress to you. Beware!

  • The computer should be in a position of mercy, that is, it should be so exclusive that anyone else would have to be in an awkward state to look at the screen. This is particularly necessary to grant you your space and your world.
  • The position should be such that your cubicle (provided you have one to work in, of course) should have some space to be comfortable with hand and leg movements, and lighting needs to be pretty and upfront.
  • The distance, setting and eye levels are all priorities. The keyboard should be placed pretty close and the mouse within half an arm’s reach. The configuration should be such that is typical to your style of use and the height and distance should not be general but specific to your demands.
  • The PC is your instrument to success and should in all ways be so amenable to you and so pleasant that every morning, you feel like opening it with a rare zeal, not with the realization of something devilish on your head.
  • Try keeping lesser files and folders on the desktop and a pretty eye-soothing wallpaper to start with. It keeps things steady.

The stress at your work place is the last thing you need in your life, because that is the root to your financial aspirations, and if looked after well, settles all the things well and fine in due course.

Warm and cordial relations with your colleagues are also a way to reduce the stress. Ever remember that these are the people that you spend the most of your time with barring your family, and so are natural inheritors of the second family tags.

Regular check-ups to stay clear of any work-related injuries and syndromes are a preliminary prevention. Health hazards are dangerous as they not only nullify your ability to work for long hours, but also are adverse to your general working schedule. A fit body is a pre-requisite for any domain you work in.

And please, do make an earnest attempt to keep your home life away from your office life. Mingling the two would lead to a tension-filled life all through.

They say, however stressful one feels, there is nothing like a good night’s sleep to energize you for another day’s work.
