Tips To Travel Light With Your Laptop
Posted on Feb 11, 2010 | Comments 1
Few of us can do without a laptop now, in our work requirements, and there is inevitably a lot of carting to and forth, this all important device.
And since one is typically required to travel or commute a fair bit with the laptop in tow to say nothing of a bunch of other accessories that we see unable to do without, it makes sense to look at the ergonomics of actually carrying the laptop around.
- First, there is the laptop bag, and you must give a lot of thought to the kind you choose (the laptop trolley is a great idea as well especially if your laptop and accessories routinely weigh more than 10 pounds).
- Then pay attention to how you carry the bag; as in the actually physical form: It is generally recommended, in the interests of back health and fitness, that a laptop bag should be carried across the lower back, from one shoulder to the opposite hip, in the way that a messenger bag is carried. This puts less pressure on the shoulders and neck.
- Another option is to use a backpack which has padded shoulder straps so that the weight is distributed over both shoulders and the padding of the straps offers cushioning.
- Keep the accessories to a minimum, when not required take them out so that you aren’t carting around unnecessary weight.
