One is the proper way of web browsing, that is how you sit before a computer or laptop while you browse and the other is how to evaluate the information on health provided on Internet.

  1. Always sit straight and keep your back positioned to your chair while you browse the web. If possible use ergonomic chairs for your computers.
  2. Keep a safe distance between the monitor and your eyes to avoid eye strain. Use anti-reflective coating glasses to prevent radiations from screen entering your eyes.
  3. Stretch yourself every half an hour. Get up and take a short walk.
  4. Keep your hands and feet properly in position to avoid strain. Put mouse and keyboard on ergonomically designed desks. If you spend long hours in internet cafes, make sure that you put your hands in comfortable positions while typing or using the mouse.
  5. Wi-Fi technology is based on electromagnetic radiations. Researches found that such waves are not healthy. So don’t expose yourself too much to such environment. If WLAN is installed in your home, switch off the routers when not in use.

  2. Look for the contact page and find out who is the owner of the page. If it is some medical association or a hospital or a private doctor, you can rely on them otherwise not.
  3. Focus on the quality of the web content. If you find something suspicious, make more research and see what other sites have to say on that topic. If you still feel insecure ask a doctor personally.
  4. And always look for current information. Something written two-three years back may not be further reliable. Because constant research on medicines, diseases reveal new facts and data.
