Computer fatigue syndrome has really become endemic with almost all offices using computers.
Whatever may be the use of computers either in home or office or in colleges; rigorous use of computers lead to a problem called computer fatigue syndrome.
This syndrome creates some kind of allergic feeling towards computer and your body and mind have some negative vibes for it.
You feel reluctant to sit before it because of eye strain, dizziness, blurred vision and headache. These are some symptoms of computer fatigue syndrome.
If you suffer from computer fatigue syndrome it is important for you to follow the simple tips to avoid computer fatigue syndrome.
The computer fatigue syndrome is due to enervating work in front of computer defying all laws of sitting and adjustment. People who have such symptoms are responsible themselves.
They simply remain focused in the work and burry themselves for hours into the screen of the system without making single movement of body, hands, legs, or even eyes.
Besides physical aches and pains, the syndrome can have negative aspect on the behavior of the person too! He or she may suffer from mood swings, acute anger, sudden hysteria in office, or change in work ethics.
Here are few simple tips to avoid computer fatigue syndrome and remain tuned to work.
Remember the three Rs:
The three Rs are – refocus, readjust and remove!
- Refocus means you need to look at something else far way so that the retina can focus properly and remain intact without any damage.
- Readjust theory affirms that you need to adjust your sitting positions to avoid strain on muscles especially of back, hip and hands.
- And you need to remove yourself from the desk every 2 hours for short breaks like – a cup of coffee, or a glass of water or a visit to bathroom. While you go to bath room make sure you wash your face or at least fetch some water on your eyes. This will have soothing effect on your mind and soul.
Besides the three Rs you should also pay attention to your eyes and sitting position to avoid computer fatigue syndrome.
Eye care tips:
- Make sure that your eyes look at some other place too beside the screen of the monitor every 15 minutes. Sometimes you can look downward while you work to avoid the glare of the screen falling on your eyes.
- Keep the monitor at least 30 inches away from your face and body to avoid computer vision syndrome. Keep your eyes moisturized and to keep your eyes moisturized you need to blink frequently. While you work on computers your eyes rarely blink and they become dry causing lot of stress on eye muscles.
Sitting Tips:
- Don’t sit in one position or pose for long hours. Keep changing the posture every hour [Good Posture]. Take stretch breaks. That is, get up from your seat and just walk to the bathroom or the lobby for a minute and stretch your body, back, hands, fingers and hips. Stretch your fingers at intervals to avoid tingling effect.
- Sit on ergonomically designed chairs which are comfortable for your back, legs and hands. Such chair helps you reach the keyboard on the desk with comfort without causing any strain on hand, shoulder of body muscles.
