Keep Away From Fatigue While Using Computers Regularly

Regular computer users in workplace or home can cause some kind of problems in the body like carpal tunnel syndrome, repetitive strain injury, computer fatigue syndrome and others.

Most computer related jobs require people to sit hours and hours before the computers.

Such regular and rigorous use may lead to a problem called computer fatigue syndrome. This syndrome slowly affects their productivity and mood of work.

People suffering from workplace fatigue find it difficult to concentrate for long periods and suffer from mood swings.

They are plagued by some symptoms like – blurred vision, eyestrain, dizziness, head ache, burning of eyes, low energy and some kind of fatigue.

They come up with different tips and suggestions to avoid such stress and fatigue. Here are few simple and useful tips for computer users to avoid workplace fatigue.

Sitting Tips:

  1. It is better if you avoid sitting in one position or posture for long hours. Keep changing the position every now and then. Remember to take breaks – get up from your chair and have a walk within the office premises indoor or the lobby for a minute and stretch your body, back, hands, fingers and hips.
  2. Always sit on ergonomically designed chairs in office or home while working in computers [Ergonomic Chairs]. The ergonomically designed chairs are comfortable for your hands, back, legs and help you reach the keyboard on the desk without any discomfort.

Exercise Tips:

  1. Exercise never means you have to hit the gym and take the sweat out of your arm pits. It means some good kind of movements of your body. Even while you are in office or workplace you can exercise and keep your body relaxed and fatigue free.
  2. Take short walks or stretch breaks. Make your hands move. Let your legs and back and neck take some bends and friendly twists.
  3. Put your hand on table, open up all the fingers and stretch them slowly and gently. This would release the fatigue of fingers and hand.

Eye Tips:

  1. Adjust your computer monitor that is at a safe distance from your eyes. It must be nearly 30 inches from your eyes. Use screen protectors to prevent the direct radiation from entering your eyes.
  2. Use spectacles which are coated with ARC to prevent the radiations from entering your eyes.
  3. Blink at regular intervals. Look at some other places every 10 minutes to rest your eyes from the radiation of the computer.
