4 Easy-To-Do Yoga Stretches To Practice At Workplace To Reduce Stress

Yoga at the workplace is particularly important if you are working in front of a computer for longer hours.

Take a few minutes and do some simple stretches while sitting at the desk so that you can reduce stress, feel better and increase productivity.

1. Rolling the neck to relieve neck pain

  • Remove your footwear if you are wearing high heels.
  • Gently close your eyes.
  • Allow your chin to touch your chest.
  • Gently start circling your neck. For example, the right ear should touch your right shoulder, the head should roll backwards and the left ear should touch the left shoulder.
  • Don’t keep the shoulders tight. Do 3-5 rolls.

2. Spinal twist while sitting to relieve back aches

  • Turn your body so that you are sitting sideways.
  • Keep your feet flat on the ground.
  • Hold your back with your arms and bend towards the back of your chair.
  • Twist the chair to the other side and repeat the procedure.

3. Wrist stretch to reduce wrist pain

  • Stand up straight.
  • Rotate the hands in a direction that allows the wrists to face the computer and fingers face the rim of the computer desk. [Wrist Pain]
  • Tilt the wrists and roll out the palms as much as you can.
  • If you experience any pain, come back to the original position.

4. Cow and cat stretch to relieve back pain and neck pain

  • Keep your feet flat on the ground.
  • Keep your hands on your knees.
  • While inhaling, lift your head up and look towards the ceiling.
  • When exhaling, drop your head down so that the spine is aligned in a round shape.
  • Repeat the procedure for 3-5 breaths.
