Amazon Kindle may be the most popular e book reader on the market, but there are other readers out there to offer competition.
The Sony Reader Touch edition lets you turn pages by touching the screen in a way that reminiscent of a real book. This device is available in black, white and red and has to be connected to a computer to download a book.
It does not have wireless download the way Kindle offers. You can access one million free public domain books from Google on this device and also buy by browsing available titles online at the ebook store. It supports multiple file formats and has a 6 inch touch screen.
The Cool-er, which promises to make reading ‘cool’, is another of the e book readers with some of the same features as its better known counterparts, available in a number of colors and 1 GB storage. This one has no keyboard, has had average reviews.
Elonex eReader is less tough and smart than the Sony, but is sleek but comes preloaded with 100 classics. It is slim and light enough even for commuters to read one handed.
If you have the i phone, you can use it for Kindle and Stanza applications since you can use it to download books using the wi fi connection.
